Its founder members were, the late Larry O"Flaherty (Mr Foxhole Utd), the late George Bryant (sen), George Amos, Lionel Bowditch and Geoff Hines.
In the early days, team selection was a committee based decision, which always included 1 or 2 players.
The first Foxhole United team consisted of- Alan Putt, Dave Duke, Georgie Bryant (jnr), Ray Manley, Bob Mcdermod, Tony Edgington, Stevie Northam, Les Crump, Phil Dimmock, Paul Driver and Brian Reed.
Back then the changing facilities were basic to say the least, it consisted of 1 very small green caravan and a tin bath. Over the years our facilities gradually improved, all be it very slowly.
The original Team was set up as a youth team and quickly had a reputation for being the side to beat.
The first ever official game was on Sept 3rd 1966 against Kingsteignton Ath (away).
The First ever South Devon League match for Foxhole United was at home to PUDC (council club) which Foxhole won 5-1, Phil Dimmock scoring our first ever SDL goal.
The highest amount of goals against the same club on a home and away fixture was 39 against Torquay YM in the 1966/67 season. As far as I am aware this is still the Club Record.
Other players who joined us in the 60s were Nicky Clift, Candy Russell, Mike Bonstow, the late Neil Corner and the late Peter (topsy) Bowden.
They were great times with a lot of success, including a league and cup double.
There were so many people who wanted to go the Plainmoor Final that the Devon General Bus Company put on double decker buses to take all the fans to and from the game.
