Highfield (2)
The Foxes started very flatly and failed to convert a handful of chances in the first half.
In the second half it was Rangers that took the lead.
Persistance paid off in the end and it was Mark Foy that got the first with a superb head from Tissots excellent delivery.
Rob Highfield finish his season off in style with 2 well taken strikes late on, the first after terrific work down the right flank be Lee Bond, to bag the points and seal the Foxes a 5th straight win.

Foxhole United continued there superb winning run with an excellent win over top of the table Buckland Atletic Reserves.
The Foxes have flattered to deceive this season on occasions and have been on a roller coaster ride that's seen us bottom of the league and yet all the time, keeping alive an outside chance of promotion.
Both sides had players out, away at Wembley to see Torquay United play in the Final of the FA Vase.
Buckland Reserves success this season, bought them to Belfield having played on Tuesday and Thursday. The scene was set for a great game, with the Foxes fielding a strong side, despite the 4 absentees and after 10 minutes it was pretty even.
Grant Willicott alongside midfield revelation Mark Foy more than coped with the 3 mid-fielders of Buckland. The visitors never had any clear-cut chances as Lee Bond and Mark Broome dealt with everything, thrown at them. Stand in goalie Matt Broome stifled the best chance when he came confidently to punch away the danger after a poor clearance.
Foy got the first for the foxes with a superb "off me shoulder" from a corner that looped in. He won't mind as he takes his goal tally to 11 for the season.
The second half and the visitors started well as the foxes sat too deep. But if there's one thing the foxes have in abundance, it's plenty of pace up front, counter attacking the visitors as they looked for the equaliser.
Then came a familiar tail as Lee Bond, playing at Centre back, picked up a loose ball, deep in our half. Ran the length of the pitch, visiting the left flank on the way to fire home from a tight angle, Superb.
Highfield got the third with a great strike, probably the most difficult of his chances and Cliff Manning got his first of the season and Foxholes 4th with a shot that got a deflection and looped over the keeper.
All the game Buckland were never totally out of it and at 4-2 and 10 mins from time, captain Willicott conceded a penalty that may have tipped the balance toward the visitors. Only for stand in keeper and man of the match Matt Broome, to not only save the spot kick but save the rebound and a third attempt too... A magnificent effort from Matt.
This was a real team performance, as everyone played a part in a splendid win. Both Buckland goals were quite soft and the score line flattered them. The Foxes were well worthy of their win and look really good going into next season.

ATT:-50 H-T 5-0
The Foxes had 3 first choices out but started the game well, with Oaff and Highfield up front, pressing and closing the opposition defence down at every opportunity. Grant Willicott contiuned where he left off against Buckfastleigh Rangers with a superb header from Tissots corner to start things off. Mark Broome at centre half looked sharp and fit and set up the second with a beautifully flighted ball into Highfield, who glanced a header past the goalie and into the left corner. Michael Rooney (suffering from a dose of Buckfast) scored the third with a strong run through the centre of the Town defence to fire home. 4-0 came from Foy with a great strike from a narrow angle and Lee Bond completed the half by skinning 3 or 4 of the visitors players, to get into the box and fire past the keeper. 5-0 at half time and the boys looked like they'd put the graft in.
With the game effectively over Town started the second half well and got their goal. Scott Woolen, who was unable to start due to work, came on in the second half and showed his quality with 2 goals and Keeper Scott Bond wrapped up things when the Foxes were awarded a penalty and fired home to make it 8-1.
A splendid win that's been coming, mathematical safety not yet achieved but 1 more win will see the Foxes safe...

After beating Newton United last week, Foxhole United's roller coaster continued going down to bottom of the league Newton Abbot 3rd.
Lack of consistency has cost us dearly this season, let's hope that we can find another gear in the last few games and beat the drop.

Foxhole eased their relegation worries with an away win at promotion chasers, Newton United.
Foxes young starlet Mark Broome bagged the goal in a tight match that could have gone either way.

The Foxes Hosted top of the table Teign Village in, what turned out to be a fiercley contested match, where the Home side had much of the play. A string of missed chances and a missed penalty, contributed to the Foxes demise.
The Highlight, a goal of the season contender from 17 year old Matt Broome, an excellent strike from 35 yards, that flew in the top corner, leaving the keeper rooted.
08/03/08 Belfield Road
With an average age of the front six, just 18. It was a youthfull attack that took the game to Newton United from the start and were only undone by a bit of a fluke and a cracking 30 yarder. Rob Highfield, consolidated his position as the clubs second highest scorer with his first for the senior side.
Quite a disapointing result as the Foxes had plenty of the play but were unable to convert the few chances that came along.
01/03/08 Ilsington
A decent result in the end. The Foxes had the best of both halves but failed to create many clear cut chances.
23/03/08 Belfield Road
Slighty unlucky with the first goal, when the goalkeeper launched a huge kick that sailed over the defence and bounced infront of keeper Scott Bond and lob over his head and into the goal. The second another defencive mix up saw Andy Colley chest a cross back to the keeper, only for the meadowbrook number 10 to nip in and slot home. The third late on in the second half came as the Foxes chased the game. Sean Rooney left a high ball go that he could of headed, again for the nippy no. 10 to steal and fire passes Bond in goal.
Meadowbrook deserved the victory but the scorline was flattering to them. Foxhole dominated much of the game but lacked the passing quality that we know we're capable of.

After 2 wins on the spin, Foxhole took a very strong side to Dartington looking to continue the good form and bring home 3 pts. With wholesale changes made between the 1st and reserve sides Foxhole started well and were in control for much of the first half. With Sean Rooney ill, Mark Broome stepped in along side Lee Bond and with Martin Noye, in from the reserves at left back and Andy Colley at right back. The back line had plenty of experience and pace to cope with pretty much anything T&D could throw at us. Noye was guilty of not clearing the ball to touch, that eventually lead to their goal. Other than that it was solid enough. Mark Foy, who did ok today, continued in the centre of the park along side Grant Willicott, who was really up for it, driving the team forward, covering at the back with some splendid tackle backs and winning everything in the air. Scott Woolen played through the pain of a knock from last week, not quite playing to his best but a threat nonetheless. The highlights, a great play in the second half down the inside left channel to set up Rooney, only for the in form striker to balloon the effort over the bar from 6 yards, and a superb run and strike that hit the cross bar. Christian Oaff got his first start for the 1st team and was a constant threat down the right and put in a beautiful cross for the first goal, scored in the end by Rooney. Up front Matt Broome and Rooney worked hard, Rooney in particular was good, holding the ball up and running at their back four and was rewarded in the second half with a second goal. Terry Haime, who was man of the match for the reserves last week, came on up front, for Matt Broome and worked hard and showed some tricks, being rewarded for his effort and good attitude, with a beautifully taken goal late on to seal the win. All in all a good team performance, a much better attitude, a real team spirit has returned to the side and it's showing the fruit on the pitch.
3 on the spin........Happy Days.

The renaissance continues with another fine display by the new look Foxhole 1st eleven. Mark Foy continued in midfield with Grant Willicott along side and the stability shows. Michael Rooney had another good game up front along side O'shea, back in the first team after dropping down to the reserves for a few. Scott Woolen on the left side of midfield was exceptional, skinning the full back at will. At the back and with a settled back four the defence looks very assured, Sean Rooney and Lee Bond coped with pretty much everthing that teams throw at them. All in all a great game and result and if we can pull off another win next week then we'll start to pull away from the drop zone.
02/02/08 Belfield Road
At last something to cheer about, with not only a good result but a good performance and much better attitude. Mark Foy whose showed great form for the reserves all season stepped up to first team action and aquitted himself well bagging the first goal with some neat feet and strike past the keeper. Andy Colley moved to right back, Sean Rooney partnered Lee Bond at Centre Back and both were fairly untroubled all game. A new strike team of Paul Applegarth and Michael Rooney up front with Rooney a contender for man of the match, Paul missed a sitter, from a great cross from Rooney. Scott and Tom on the flanks both work very hard for the team and both can take on the fullbacks, so giving us a threat down the flanks. The centre partnership of Grant Willicott and Foy looked strong, good in the air and threatening going forward. Lee bond popped up in the box from a United corner in the second half and his poaching skills ensured the chance was burie, 2-1. Great game great result..

Foxhole took the lead when Rooney with some good work got to the byline, crossing for O'Shea to fire home from 18 yards. Foxhole were worthy of a half time lead of 1-0 after surviving an early scare to an offside decision. It was a different story in the second half though, Buckland threw everything at the Foxes and were soon rewarded with 2 quick goals. Bucklands superior fitness and team play saw them score 3 more goals to earn a deserved victory.

A hugely depleted squad went to Teign Village and were well beaten. The result is very kind to Village because Foxhole were better than the score suggests. When you have 8 or 9 first team players out it makes it diificult. Matt O'Shea continued his run with a goal late on, which was the least that we deserved.

A cracking game of football for the neutral but a severe lack of discipline cost Foxhole dearly tonight at Belfield Road.
Waldon came flying out of the blocks and took the lead 4 minutes in with some very good play that had Foxhole stuttering. We battled back to create some chances and with Matt O'shea back looking bigger and stronger, he and Bondy got a few opportunities. The reward came on 57 minutes with a great bit of play from United finished by Lee Bond. Foxholes indiscipline proved telling as Waldon took the lead again a minute later.
At the break there were rumblings amongst the team talk (probably more about the ref, who was awful)
Foxhole started better in the second half Kev and Alan started dominating at the back and we looked threatening going forward but it was waldon who extended their lead 20 minutes from time.
Foxhole pushed hard and were unlucky not to get a penalty before scoring two quick goals to make a fist of it. Again a lack of discipline allowed Waldon 2 cheap goals near the death to take the spoils.

Staverton have a pretty good record against us and it proved the case again. Despite playing well in the first half, a half that included a sublime goal from in form Captain Willicott that ended a swift flowing passing move, Foxhole let the heads go down and Staverton ran away with it.
08/08/07 Galmpton
In a hastily arranged friendly against Penninsula/SDL Premier side Galmpton United, Foxhole United put together a side and were unlucky not to get a result. With Alan McClements unavailable, on leave squaddie Geoff Taylor came into the back line alongside Kev Dunn, who was exceptional. Mike Jenkins played his skin off as did Sam Davis and Captain Grant Willicott was Inspirational in the centre. Up front Lee Bond opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Willicott which gave Foxhole a 2-0 lead. Galmpton came into it and at half time, they'd pegged us back to 2-2. After the break Christian Oaff and Greg Dennett played well coming on and it was Lee Bond who put us back in front with a well taken goal. Galmpton United's reserve side are 3 divisions higher than our first and the quality proved to be the difference in the end as Galmpton scored twice, the second of which came in the last minute, to win the match at the death.
We were worth a draw at least tonight but couldn't quite manage it.
The whole side was excellent tonight and the competition for places is pushing everyone to perform to the best of their ability, we now have strength in depth and are competing against clubs leagues above us....so lets keep it up.

Foxhole United 1st Eleven played their first pre-season game on Saturday against Division 1 side Paignton Saints. The game was a feisty affair with several dust ups between the two teams but it was a superb goal on 40 mins from Captain Grant Willicott, who attacked the opposition goal throughout, that proved to be the winning goal.
With competition for places in the starting eleven intense, Foxhole United 1st XI face another stern test next outing against Staverton & Landscove on Saturday 11th.
